On Friday night, Juno and I went to the Lulu's Style Studio event. Juno took pictures of a lot of people. Above are only a couple pictures she took. Some people might look familiar.. :-) All around the room were tables set up with free samples of different things. There were little chocolates, chips, and cosmetics mostly. I left with my bag full. Towards the end, we got to choose one piece from the racks that we wanted. It was completely free, I managed to snag a floral romper.

Today was a great day to finally get to do an outfit post. It's the first day of February and the high is already 60 degrees! I hope Spring comes early. :-) I was hanging out Juno aka one of my best friends. We stopped by the Hudson River just in time to see the sunset. When we were leaving Juno and I were clumsy enough to knock each other over and fall flat on the pavement. :-( but we had a good time anyways, haha.

This is how I spent my Saturday... I went through old button ups I had (and even used one of my dad's old shirts) and cut them to make DIY detachable collars. Last night my mom gave me a huge box of cute plastic flowers, acrylic gems, and little things like that. It has everything, I even found some bananas in there, haha. I decided to rummage through the box until I found some things I wanted to put on my collars. I found 2 plastic hearts and 2 gold hearts (as seen above). The other collar was painted. I took some orange fabric paint and tape and sectioned off where I wanted to paint. I got my inspiration for that from Rookie Mag.

Today I received my February 2012 issue of Elle, and I flipped through it the second I got it out of the mail box. I came across these photos of Karolina Mrozkova and I obviously fell in love with them at first glance. Why? The colors of course :-) In the last post I said that I was really into light colors. When I read the first page and it said, "Easter-egg hues" I knew that I was going to love everything.

In the first image, my favorite pieces are the Chanel peep-toe pumps and the Emporio Armani leather jacket. I love the contrast between the gold and the creme/pale pink color on the pumps. In each picture there's always a hint of gold or yellow. Even her hair is kind of golden, haha!

Happy new year everyone! Do you still remember who I am? I hope you do... I know that I haven't posted in a couple months, but I plan on continuing to post, whether it's outfit shots or not. I'm looking for a new camera, so if you have any suggestions, leave it in the comments please!

While I was gone, I bought some new clothes and this is one of my favorites. It's a light button up from Forever 21. Lately I've been wearing a lot of lighter and nude colors. My favorite things about this top is the pretty buttons and how I can wear it underneath a pullover. One day I wore it underneath a gray pullover. Also, it's really lightweight and flowy. What do you think of it?

Boots from MIA Shoes: Tawannah in Nude

Well, this is my long awaited post. I haven't been feeling too good, and have been extremely busy (isn't that the excuse every time?). Anyways, these boots were sent to me from MIA Shoes. They're amazing, I've been wearing them every week. They're really comfortable, and I like the fact that they lace up. The laces tie around the back and then knot in the front. Their new Tawannah boots come in different colors (check it out on the link) and I chose nude. I was so happy when I got them in the mail! They do run a bit big to size, but not too big. I'm a size 6 and so are the shoes, but they're just a little loose. It's nothing some socks can't fix. :-) My second color choice would've been the brown, but I wanted to take a different turn and go for these. I highly recommend checking MIA out!

How has summer gone so fast? Fall is in a couple of days, and I already need to bring a jacket with me. Today was photo day at school, my last middle school photo. I found the creme top at Goodwill and I loved how silky it was. Topped it with a skirt, some socks & Kork-Ease and a jacket. My mom lent me this one and it's just so amazing. You'll definitely be seeing me in it more.

Yesterday I went down to Lincoln Center with Avery to see the Teen Vogue Declare Your Denim fashion show. Along with that I got to visit the Teen Vogue Haute Spot and meet Elle & Blair Fowler, Victoria Justice, Ashley Argota, Eva Chen, and I saw Shay Mitchell. We spent the day at the Haute Spot, then for a little bit walked around Lincoln Center. While walking around I spotted Natalie from Natalie off Duty and her sister Dylana from Color Me Nana. I read both their blogs pretty much everyday (even if they don't post anything new). I also got to take a picture of a lot of people who caught my eye. At the fashion show there were 5 categories: color-blocking, dressed-up, precision, parisian chic, and tomboy.

Last night was FNO and I went with 3 of my friends. First we went to see the Kardashians. It was SO CROWDED. I couldn't even breath. I was squished between 2 people wherever I moved. I got a really good picture of Kim anyways. Even though I didn't meet her. Afterwards, we went to Topshop to get our makeup done. I was contemplating whether or not to buy myself my own FNO shirt. I ended up not, because I didn't have a lot of money with me. Later, we went to Sephora in Union Square to meet Tarina Tarantino. She's that makeup and jewelry designer. She was really nice! I had a great FNO.

I saw this lady also waiting to see the Kardashians. I really loved her gray outfit, accented with her blue pants.

IFB conference wrap up

The IFB Conference was yesterday (9/7/11) and it was beyond amazing! I met so many new people, some who even read my blog. I met 2 people who have spoken to me on the IFB website a long time ago and I got to know them so well! That just shows how effective Jennine's (The Coveted) community is. I made a couple of friends around my age. We must've been the youngest ones there. Me, being the youngest of everyone, probably. I went with Odelia (You're a Tulle), then met Beryl (The Emerald Sun), then met Maya (Girl Loves Color). I met Maya on the IFB website. We started messaging each other for weeks and exchanged tips and asked questions. I also took a whole bunch of notes. Try 5 pages in writing and 3 pages in typing! Joe Zee, at the end was speaking so many words of wisdom. I wrote down a lot of his quotes and the questions from the Q&A session.

When you come back from a long vacation, the only thing you feel like doing is hanging out with your friends. Sadly, none of my friends were free except this girl. It seems I'm always with her, but it's okay. She's a good person to shop with. Though some say that it's better to shop by yourself, so others don't influence you, I disagree. You know you really want something, if you look past what the other people think about the item.

Today I found that something. I posted earlier about the Blogger T-Shirt with Cocorosa on it, and I got it! I was in Union Square today and I walked up the stairs in Zara, then the shirt was waiting literally right in front of me. One thing I didn't know about the top that was surprising, was that the front is a different material than the back. It's not a bad thing, trust me, because I love how both the materials feel! They're so soft and I know I'll be comfy in it!

I have a ton of new clothes to show off this year, keep watching.

It's been too long since my last outfit post. When I'm at the beach, I'm just so distracted by the ocean that I have no time to take photos.

Anyways, last night was my uncle's (who took this picture) birthday, so we went out to Ninniku-Ya for dinner. It's a restaurant that serves everything with garlic. Last night was their last night open, because the chef got tired of cooking, so their closing. We ordered so much food, most of us couldn't even finish our main dishes. It was good though, so it didn't matter, hehe.

Today was my first full day here in Honolulu. I woke up at 7am, wondering why I was up that early. I realized that I was still jet lagged from Arizona or even New York. I don't know if I was used to AZ time yet. Hawaii is 6 hrs before New York time. I sat in bed for a while, checking my emails, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Then I heard Aris wake up and we all got ready to go to breakfast and the beach. We had breakfast at a diner and I had pancakes, eggs and green tea. I ordered the short stack of pancakes, but our waiter said that we should get the large stack because I was going to share with my mom. We immediately regretted ordering the large stack because the pancakes were huge! Now we know to stick to our original decision next time we go.

After eating and driving around, we stopped at a rest area that was also a scenic point. You could see all the beaches down below and the water was an unbelievable color. We decided to go down to one of the beaches and take a swim. Of course there had to be some sort of warning at the beach. Whenever I go there's either a strong tide warning, or a shark warning. This time it was a Man-O-War warning. We decided to go in anyways. We didn't have long before we had to go. We jumped the waves and dug in the sand and found crabs all in one hour. We got back feeling so tired, I even fell asleep in the car.

I really like this Blogger T-Shirt from Zara. I mostly like the 3D look of it and how it has my favorite blogger of all time on it. It's Chantal, aka cocorosa! I'm really planning on getting this one day. Especially because the color is so nude that it could pair with a bunch of different colors. Oh, and it's kind of semi-sheer, haha.

Speaking of blogger shirts, yesterday I saw a shirt that said, "MY BLOG IS MORE FASHIONABLE THAN YOURS". I thought it was pretty cool, but I didn't think I wanted to get it.

Last night I arrived in San Diego after an about 6 hour drive. I'm staying with my aunt, uncle and cousin. They have their own house here. Today we went to the beach, and right by the beach are roller coasters and more rides. I went on one of the few wooden roller coasters left. It looked just like The Cyclone.

The top I'm wearing is the one I got from the antique store a couple days ago (see my last post). I love the fringe. It was in the mens section, but who cares? I don't. Of course I wore my heart necklace. I also used my tote that I made during my classes at FIT. I painted a dream catcher on one side and stripes on the other.

You may be wondering, who's the little girl? That's my cousin Tatianna. She's wearing my old clothes. The halter top and skirt were both mine. They were actually my favorite pieces when I was her age (5).

I finally arrived in Phoenix, Arizona. The trip from New York to Arizona was HELL. First, my flight got delayed in New York going to Atlanta, Georgia. I had a connection flight waiting in Atlanta go to to Arizona. Since my flight to Atlanta was delayed 2 hours, I got there about an hour late and missed my flight to Phoenix! That, unfortunately, was the last flight that night. (I love rhyming!) I had to stay in some cheap hotel until the next morning. The hotel was incredibly creepy and I think they had bed bugs. I have bites on my shoulders and arms. Thankfully, it's not much. I think they'll go away by the end of the week. Or maybe before I go to San Diego!

Today I went antiquing. I got so many things that I've wanted forever. First of all, I got a hat. I was walking down an isle thinking about how much I wanted a boater hat, and I found one so similar! The top is a little more curved than flat, but they look alike. ;) I also got a floral clutch, of course these things are vintage. It was so pretty and cheap! The hat and the clutch were both $8. They made me so happyyyy! The third thing I got was a fringy top. It's denim and it has fringe all along the bottom and sleeves. I think it'll look really good with shorts and black boots. I'll try to post one of my outfits with it. The last 2 things I got at another antique shop. One of the purses are for Chloe, her birthday is coming up! These were probably the prettiest in the whole entire store (the store was so so so big). You can really see how much work is put into them.

As some of you may know, I'm leaving NYC tomorrow. I'm going to be away for the month of August in Arizona, California and Hawaii. Today I started packing, and it was harder than I thought it'd be... I honestly can say I spent a total 2 hours packing. Above are just some of the things I packed.

In the 4th and 5th image, you see a top that may not look familiar. It's because that's the one I was supposed to post after the IFB Blogger Closet Raid one. Yes, It's the top I bought from Keiko Lynn for 8 dollars. It was sooo worth it! If I pair it with the creme skirt (also in the picture), it looks like a dress. Don't be fooled, because it's not! ;)

These pictures were from the last day of classes at FIT. Antonia and I both had the retro vibe. I loved her dress. I was wearing a dress from Anthropologie, but I put a shirt over it and tied it. This way it kind of looks like a skirt. In the morning, when I was getting dressed, I made a huge mess in my room. There were clothes everywhere. I tried on at least 5 outfits before I made my mind up. I'm glad that I settled on this one.

EEEEEP... Tomorrow's my last day of classes at FIT. I liked it so much, especially because I met a lot of new people and still had fun with my friends. Unfortunately, I wont get my final products back until later. Since I'll be away in AZ, Cali and Hawaii, my dad will pick up my stuff. That means I won't get to see them until SEPTEMBER!! Wahhhh.

I got the Cecico dress in Arizona last year at Forever 21. It's one of my favorite summer dresses. The material is really light and the crocheted top is gorgeousss... Now you must know how much I loooove Forever 21, if you look at all my posts there's almost none where I'm not wearing a piece from them. I'm trying to cut back on shopping there because I feel like I need more of a variety of clothes. This means saving up my money (hard for me to do!) and shopping vintage, thrift, going to American Apparel, Urban Outfitters and those places that are a bit pricey for a 13 year old. This for me, will be pretty hard because I tend to blow my money really quickly at places like F21. Hopefully this goal will be reached!!

DIY WORRY DOLL EARRINGS

A couple days ago, I made these Worry Doll earings. They're VERY simple to make. It took me literally 5 minutes. It's really only about 2 steps!

What you'll need:

2 Worry dolls

2 Earring hoops (or wire that you can bend)

2 pliers

This is what you'll be making. You will stick the end of the hoop into the doll (wherever you want it to hang) and then secure the little loop with pliers. To secure it, just squeeze the sides together.

This is what your hoop should look like opened. Make sure it's closed, so the doll doesn't slip off the hook while you're walking.

Today was the start of my last week at FIT. Today I started painting shirts, I painted one with a mint-chip ice cream cone (my favorite!) and another with a sail boat. My last one will be marbleized. They're basically graphic tees. Just like the one Avery is wearing above.

Of course I get out of class and it starts raining. So here I am walking fast trying not to get my papers wet, yet I'm still soaking once I reach the train station. I hate being stuck in the rain, especially here in NYC. Blech. Makes me feel gross. Speaking of the weather, I'm so happy today wasn't too hot. It was still a little hot, but I could deal with it much better than the 100+ degrees we've had.

How did I come up with this outfit? Well, I didn't. I give the credit to Avery. (but I accessorized it!!) Last night when we were choosing our outfits, I showed her a bunch of pictures from Style Yourself that I was inspired by and she came up with this outfit. I was inspired by Shan Shan from Tiny Toadstool. Tulle and ruffles were the key. Thanks, Avery!

JEWELRY POST: DOMINO EARRINGS

This is the story of the domino earrings. My mom's friend gave me these earrings. I found them really fascinating because there were dominoes on them. The dominoes are vintage, and I love vintage items. I wore them like, 3 days ago and my professor at FIT said she really liked them. I wore them with a peach-colored top (I cut off the sleeves) and tucked it into shorts. I went for the more retro look. These earrings totally completed the outfit.

Today I wore the top I got from Housing Works a couple days ago, for just $10. It was a great steal. I paired it with a pair of Forever 21 shorts and Steve Madden boots (also thrifted!). Of course I was wearing my American Apparel bow and some fresh water pearls. White goes with everything, and they both also add a feminine touch. I got my pearls in Hawaii, I have black ones too. Yes, they're real and kind of heavy...

At FIT, we're designing tote bags right now, but once we're done (tomorrow really) we're going to design T-shirts! I'm so excited, but I have no ideas yet... I'll be painting, so I need to think! I got the shirt from American Apparel, and I decided to take a picture because for some reason I really enjoy taking pictures of their pieces.

DIY PETER PAN COLLAR

Since some of you really liked my top from yesterday's post, I'm going to show you how I made it! I looked up how to do it here.

For this task you'll need:

A top or dress with a crew neck cut

cotton fabric

sewing machine

(you can sew it by hand too)

needle

thread

scissors

printer

iron
pins

buttons (optional)

I found my pattern for the collar here. Now that you have everything, we can get started!

First, you should print out the pattern that I linked above. Pin the pattern to your fabric and cut it out. Make sure that the fabric is doubled! Cut this twice, so you'll end up with 4 pieces.

Here are my 4 pieces:

Put 2 pieces together, so that you now have 2 sides for the collar.

Sew the parts together. You can use a sewing machine or sew by hand. Using a machine may be neater.

ONLY SEW THE SIDES, NOT THE TOP. Don't sew where the curve is, you have to turn it inside out.

Once you turn it inside out, this is what it'll look like inside and out.

Now you can sew the two collars to the top. Remember to sew around the neckline. You may want to pin the collar to the top first, before you start to sew.

Once you're done sewing, you should iron the collar so it's not puffy. Then you can add decorations. I added a button with an anchor on it. You can also add some lace around the neckline.

Now you're done!

Monday: the start of the week. It's my 2nd week at FIT and it was an interesting day. I wore the top I made a couple days ago that has a peter pan collar. It was actually really easy to make. I usually don't wear all black, so today was a special day. I don't wear black in the summer, because I know that I'll get super hot. When I was making the top, I had my sleeves cut, so that the arm holes would be larger. That made me cool down more, because I could get breeze through there.

After FIT, I went to Regional Thai, to have a late lunch. I ate some Shrimp Pad Thai and had some Thai Iced Tea. They gave us some complimentary Mee Krob, it's the best. It's crispy noodles, and it's covered in this sweet sauce. AMAZINNNGGGG. After eating, I went to Housing Works to do some thrifting. Now, I'm supposed to be saving up my money for my trip to Arizona, California and Hawaii, but I saw this top and it was so cute. I had to buy it. I'll probably be wearing it soon, so keep watch! JEWELRY POST: A BROKEN WATCH

This vintage Hamilton watch was found by my mom at a flea market. My mom goes to flea markets often, because she recycles old jewelry and makes them into new jewelry. She got this watch and put it in her tray of pieces to use. She was going to make it into a necklace some how. Last night, I realized how long it has been since my last post on June 28th. It's now July 11th! What could I have been doing that would distract me from you guys? Well, my birthday was on the 29th and I was out all day. Then I went to East Hampton with Eliza. I got back from the Hamptons on Wednesday, because the next day I had orientation at the Fashion Institute of Technology. My classes there started today and I was so busy getting ready I rarely had time to post. Not to mention the terrible weather keeping me from taking pictures.

As I said before, today was my first day at FIT. I really enjoyed the classes there, and everyone seemed nice. I got my first class mixed up with the second, so I had to travel all over the building with another girl (who was in the same situation) just to clear it up. Now, I don't think you're very interested in my adventure in the halls of FIT, so I'll spare you the time!

I switched boots so you could see both, they match either way.

These are my mom's other frye boots. They're lace up and tall.

These are the amazing glasses I got from the IFB Blogger Closet Raid on Saturday. They're a pale pink color and I got them for a dollar!

The closet raid took place at the TriBeCa Grand Hotel (I heard they had really good french fries!!).

I bought these glasses from blogger, Keiko Lynn. She's one of my favorite bloggers and I'm very happy I got to meet her! I also got to meet some of my other favorite bloggers: Jinna from Grease and Glamour and Nubia from Nubia's Nonsense. They were all so nice, and I had a really good time.

Aside from the glasses, I bought a top that I will be posting soon. IT'S GORGEOUS. It has ruffles all along the top and the shoulders. It's a creme color and it ties in the back. This top was 8 dollars. Everything there was literally 1 to 15 dollars. I saw so many more things I liked, but I didn't get them. After, I got kind of mad at myself because I didn't get them, haha. I really, really hope there's another one soon!

My mom is a hunter for bags. She buys them, sells them, makes them, finds them and hides them from me.

This one is one of the bags she found at a flea market one day. As soon as she came home with it, I saw it resting on the table. I took it and ran to the mirror and tried it on. For a while she refused to let me use it. On our trip to Cold Spring, I saw a vintage bag (I might've mentioned this before) that I couldn't buy. She let me have this bag, because she wouldn't let me buy the other. It would also be my birthday present, because my birthday is in 5 days!

So, as you can see, I went to Beacon today. My parents and I visited Cold Spring and it was such a nice little town. I'd love to live there! I took my great-grandmother's blazer along with me. It's a beautiful piece and you can tell that it has to be handled with care. It would be considered vintage now, and I'm glad it was passed down to me. The detail in the blazer is very intricate.

In Cold Spring I had some really good Buttermilk pancakes from Hudson Hil's cafe/market. We visited a bunch of garage sales/estate sales and antique shops! I saw a really nice bag at an antique shop. I didn't get it, but my mom is giving me one of hers. I'll be sure to post it! Another item I found at the antique shop was an old wallet made in Belgium. It was from Sacks Fifth Ave. It was a white, beaded wallet with baby blue silk lining. 15 dollars! I also saw a telephone at one of the estate sales. I wanted it so bad, and it was 5 dollars. It was a nude, pink-ish color. I finally realized, I don't use the home phone... At this estate sale, I also found a lot of vintage clothing. They were mostly gowns and jackets, really pretty ones! If only they were my size.

THE PALISADES

Yesterday, my class went on a trip to The Palisades in New Jersey. We got to hang out at the playground after lunch, which none of us ever do anymore. Afterwards, we went on a "hike". It wasn't really a hike, because we just walked straight and back and it took 10 minutes. It was still fun though, I love class trips.

My 7th grade school-year has been really fun. Today was my last day! I went to Coney Island afterwards. I got to go on a lot of my favorite rides like, Eclipse, the Electro-Spin, the Tickler, and more. The best part was that I got to spend the time with my best friends. I'll miss them!

Hey guys! It's been a while...!

Yesterday, the whole middle and high school watched as the 12th graders graduated. We had to dress formally, so we did. This gave me a chance to get a picture of one of my When Decades Collide dresses. I won this one from Chantal (cocorosa)'s blog giveaway. $50 worth of their dresses, amazing.

After school, we both walked to the South Street Seaport. Took some pictures by the mall and went window shopping. Eliza and I both love getting matching items. We have matching bracelets. In my other posts, I don't know if you've noticed but I'm always wearing a tan bracelet. In the first picture, you can see both of us wearing it. Eliza is one of my best friends.

Today it was raining on and off. It's been raining for the past week or two.

We went up on Avery's roof and started snapping pictures while playing music on Chloe's laptop.

We went out to buy snacks and we bought soda in bottles. We went in order blowing on the top making noise. I was the last to blow because I drank the most. It was Avery then Chloe then Sara (she came later on, I don't have pictures) and then me.

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY

Yesterday I went to Urban Outfitters–one of the best stores ever– and I bought some sheer heart tights. I've been wanting them for a while, and I found them at Urban Outfitters for $5. While all the other tights similar to these were $15.

I'm so glad it's the weekend. This is probably the first weekend in 2 months that I have no plans. That way, I can keep up with my favorite blogs!

DIY STUDDED SHORTS

1) Get a bunch of studs, they're probably at any crafts store.

Make sure they have 2 pointy flaps.

2) Pierce the part of the piece that you want to be studded, with one of the flaps.

Make sure they're both stuck inside so that it won't come out.

3) The back of the part should look normal, or have the flaps stuck inside.

3) There you go! Now you have your studs. It doesn't even require glue.

Today was my piano recital at Café Vivaldi. It went well for me. I played one of my own songs and Cosmic Love by Florence + The Machine. My teacher is really cool about writing music (she writes too) and playing other people's music. I'm not such a big fan of classical music, so I like to play more new stuff.

Yesterday I went to Coney Island with some of my friends, we went on so many rides. After a while I got pretty nauseous so I stopped to eat popcorn. Don't worry, I didn't ride after eating.

I got in contact with Kitty from the blog Kitty Cotten, I love her blog!! She introduced me to a photo editing program. It's called Toycamera Analog. You can get it on the apple website. It's free, and great! I edit all my pictures today with it.

The other day I went shopping with my mom. We went around SoHo. It was really cool because we saw a bunch of movie trucks everywhere. I think they're filming Men in Black 3 or something. Anyways, I went to Necessary Clothing–I never liked that place, until now. I bought those shoes up there. They're so cool because they have a floral lining inside. I also like the color a lot.
I also went to get a Longchamp bag, which I have been waiting for. I've wanted one forever. My mom got it for me as my early birthday present. It's coming up... June 29th! The bag is navy blue and it's the medium size, not the big one. I tried it on and it ended up looking huge on me. Even though I love big bags, that was just too big. This size can fit all my school books and stuff in it.

Happy Mother's Day to everyone, I hope all you moms had a great day.

Today I went to visit my great-grandmother and my grandfather. There I met other family that I didn't even know existed. We spent pretty much the whole day there. It was cool, a lot of Filipino food.

This whole weekend was very busy for me. Remember my older post 'Oliver!'? Well, that's the musical my school was doing. The shows were on Friday and Saturday. I had one Friday night and 2 on Saturday. Then came today, Mother's Day. The pictures above were taken outside the family's house. They had a really nice pink Dogwood tree that my mom really liked.

I came up with a new system so that I can get rid of old clothes and buy new ones.

At the flea markets, I'd sell my old ones and then with that money I make, I could go and buy other ones. Or I could save up. Last Sunday I made $60 off of selling my old clothes. It was funny because the person who bought the most from me, was a grandfather looking for his grandchildren. He must've came back to buy things at least 4 times.

Today my class went to Philly for our studies on Tories, Patriots and Moderates.

We saw court rooms and the Liberty Bell. We also were going to get ice cream from Franklin's Fountain.

It's supposed to be really good, but unfortunately we didn't get to go or else we'd be late arriving back in NYC.

We got to stop at a rest stop instead and get ice cream there. I think that Franklin's would've been much better.

Across the street from Franklin's Fountain there was a store called Smak Parlour
I really like their jewelry and accessories. I think you should check out their website.

My pictures were taken outside of the museum we were at. During our lunch period we got to sit on the grass and my friends decided to read my magazines. Iniko read my Teen Vogue Handbook while Avery read my May issue of Teen Vogue. It was really nice weather there in Philadelphia. Although, a little bit windy, but it was okay. I was the only one wearing a skirt–I was still comfortable, though.

Lately I've been seeing a lot of people post about how they're "inspired by menswear".
I think it'd be interesting for me to try something like that out. I'll look into it some more.
Also, I was wondering about wide-leg pants. I almost always wear skinny jeans just like a lot of other New Yorkers do. I was thinking I should go into a store that sells those kinds of pants, and maybe try them on to see how they look.

Today my friend Avery and I swapped clothing for the day. I let her wear my overalls from my Cherry Blossoms post and she let me wear these shorts.

She got the shorts at Forever 21 last year, I really like them. I like them especially because they're floral (and you know how much I like florals).

They fit really well and are very thin and loose. They have an elastic band to fit perfectly on your waist.

I prefer skirts and shorts that do have elastic bands because they're easier to tuck shirts into. They also don't move around a lot.

The material that the shorts are made of is really soft. It's not itchy or uncomfortable. You could pretty much sleep in these.

The French Connection cardigan I'm wearing is also from Avery,but she gave it to me.

It's also really comfortable and it matches the shorts very well in this outfit. I especially like it because of the detail it has around the neck.

I also like it because you don't have to button it up, you can just tie it with the string attached to the detail.

So basically there are three ways of wearing this cardigan:

1. Button it up

2. Tie it

3. Button and tie it

You can choose one and see how it fits with what else you're wearing.

The hat I'm wearing was my moms. She says it's special because her ex-boyfriend gave it to her.

I really like it. I've always wanted one like that. It fits well on my head and I like the color (brown).

I take good care of it and I try not to wear it too often. It matches a lot of things though, you just have to look.

I bought my glasses from H&M. They were really cute and only $5.95. Most of the accessories at H&M are not expensive.

I know that they have $5 shoes and tops sometimes. I got a pair of wedges for $5, but I gave them to Avery because I never wore them.

She'll put them to good use.

As you can see, my glasses also have a floral print on them. I like the color of the glasses more than the print.

I really like that they're kind of transparent but at the same time they're not.

The shape of the glasses are really nice as well. I have 3 pairs of sunglasses that I use.

One pair are really big and round. The other pair are more square and have a paint splattered print.

The one with the splattered paint are pink and yellow. I got them at Urban Outfitters for $8.

CHERRY BLOSSOMS

Today was a very nice day outside. I finally got to go take pictures in the nice weather!

Here where I live, there are cherry blossom trees almost everywhere. Unfortunately, they only last about 7 days.

I decided that I should take pictures with them before they all fall off the trees.

I had my mom take my pictures today. She also bought me some ice cream!

In the pictures I'm wearing a pair of striped overalls. You can't see the stripes very well, but they are striped.

I got them from Forever 21 over the summer and I wore them only a couple times because they were a bit big.

I've grown into them more now and it's very comfortable. They have studs around the pockets and belt loops.

It's also button-up, which I like a lot. I also like that they're just like shorts and you can always wear a

shirt over it to make it look like you're wearing a shirt and a pair of shorts. There are many different ways to wear overalls.

I decided to pair those overalls with some ripped tights, thigh-high socks (rolled down), a necklace and my Converse.

The necklace is made by Belle Costes and my tights are from a friend. The socks I bought at American Apparel. My last accessory was some delicious Häagen-Dazs ice cream.

DONUTS AND TEA

This was my outfit from yesterday and Saturday before.

On Saturday I went shopping with Chloe. We went to Forever 21, American Apparel, H&M, Urban Outfitters and even the Chanel store.

Of course we couldn't buy anything there. I only had around 25 dollars with me, but we just went to look.

I bought a couple things, most were cheap. I got a pair of tights at H&M for 6 dollars. They were a salmon color.

I also got a pair of sunglasses from H&M that were 5 dollars, they're really cute and they have flowers on them.

Then the last thing I bought were socks from American Apparel for 7 dollars. You can see them in my outfit post above.

Yesterday I wore my lace skirt, I know I recently posted about it, but I really liked how it went with the navy blue top.

I added a belt to the skirt and I ended up really liking it. Also, you can see that I'm wearing the cardigan-like piece.

I really like how that has lace on the shoulders. And then finally, my American Apparel socks. They were called Opaque, but you can't see it well in the picture. They also have a pattern on them which I like, but I bought them because they're knee-high socks.

Today I decided to go more casual. It wasn't too nice outside, but it wasn't so bad compared to before.

I wish I could live in a small town with nice sunsets and places to take pictures.

Fashion bloggers with that scene must have beautiful pictures.

I got the shirt I'm wearing today as a present for my birthday (6/29) from my friend.

I love the butterfly print, also the color is really nice and fit well with my green cardigan.

My green cardigan is the one I bought from Forever 21. It's an olive green color.

I love how it's loose and not tight or closed. It's a great color.

Now for the bag, from my mom's closet. She got it at a thrift store.

It's Mulberry and she got it for $60, when in stores it's way more expensive!

Lately I've been in love with leather bags. Thank god my mom is making some.

I've got my eye on her lavender leather bag.

Although most leather bags can be heavy, this one surprisingly isn't.

My mom thought it was, but it's okay because I probably carry less things than her.

Recently I've been wearing a leather bracelet as well. This is the first picture I have actually shown it in.

It's my friendship bracelet. I have 4 other friends who have the same bracelet (or almost the same).

We got them at the South Street Seaport. The mall there is really good for shopping with friends. It's small, but nice.

It's right by the dock too. I saw the Jonas Brothers there on Father's Day years ago.

It seems like this whole week has been rain non-stop. I was really hoping to get some outside pictures.
My spring break felt like winter break. Now it's almost over. I go back to school on the 4th.

Today I decided to go with the "sailor" or "patriot" look. I really like the striped skirt.
I got the skirt at Forever 21 (duh) and it came with the red belt.
The skirt also comes in a black and white striped pattern.

My top is a white loose one with flowers on the side.
It's one of my favorites because it's not too tight.

The glasses I'm wearing are not prescription glasses.
I got them in Virginia, one of my friends has a matching pair.
They have a red rim to match my red and blue color scheme.

My Keds are the best shoes I could've ever boughten.
I love my red Keds because they match with almost anything.
That really surprised me because usually red doesn't match everything.
The red Keds actually match with more items than my black Keds!

LAZY DAYS

Today was definitely a lazy day for me. I didn't do much.

I had to take this picture inside because it was so foggy outside and it didn't look nice at all.

I hate fog, so I stayed inside. It gets really humid and you can almost feel the rain.

I sit here right now, writing this post while watching Ghost Hunters.

My guilty pleasure.

What I'm wearing today is all mine–haha, just referring to my post from yesterday.

None of the items I'm wearing are from my mom's closet.

My skirt and top are both from Forever 21. This is one of my favorite skirts in my closet.

I also pair this top with many white skirts or creme skirts of mine.

My boots were an excellent find! I got them at my local thrift-store for $5.

Normally these Steve Madden boots would be $95 dollars in stores. They were in great shape too!

Now on to my jewelry... My earrings were made by Belle Costes. They're my spring earrings.

They have blue and green beads and my favorite part must be the ribbon.

On the top of the beads there is a blue ribbon tied into a bow. You know I love bows!

Aside from those earrings, of course, I'm wearing my heart clock necklace. I turned it around this time though.

I decided to wear the clock side down. On the back of it is a design that I really like, so I wore it that way instead.

MY MOMS CLOSET

Whenever I feel like I've worn-out all the items in my closet. I immediately go to my mom's closet.

Whether I'm allowed to or not, it's always my second choice. I usually go searching for cardigans or long-sleeved shirts.

Most of the pieces I choose from her closet are from Forever 21. If not from there, they're probably vintage or thrifted. I was always pretty jealous of my mom's closet because hers is walk-in, while mine isn't.

So, you may be wondering which item(s) I got from my mom's closet.

Well, I'm borrowing that Forever 21 cardigan coat, and the light pink Kula Yoga tee. I love the cardigan coat because it's long and baggy. I seem to like that style now. It's also warm. It's knitted and I love the colors in it. I'm always afraid to pair different colors with gray. Gray just seems like such a "down" color... I never thought to match it with orange/pink or blue. She gave me the vintage necktie a long time ago.

I always thought it was a headband and wondered why it didn't fit on my head.

Then I found out that I was able to adjust the strap. So I did that and put it on my head.

I was looking for more of a headband look. I didn't want it to look like a bow on the side like one would normally wear it.

I wanted it to look kind of like a cloth wrapped around my head, tied with a bow.

The items I didn't get from her closet are my black Forever 21 jeans/jeggings, the dark brown belt, and my heart-shaped clock necklace. I wear that necklace a lot, I really like it. It's the one I bought at the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market. The only bad thing about it is that the chain gets stuck in my hair a lot... It's not in very good shape either. There are small gold dots on it and they're falling off and are stuck inside the glass. Not to mention, it doesn't even work. I really want to get it fixed, but it's a little expensive just for that. It's pretty and all, but I just wear it as an accessory. I get people asking me the time, looking at my necklace, but I always have to say, "It doesn't work."

It's almost April, I really don't look forward to the rain. Come May and the weather will be (or should be) perfect.

I've been using Looklet a ton lately. Looklet is very easy to use. You have a model and a wide selection of clothes that you can put on the model. Now, the clothes don't look drawn or fake. They look very realistic. As you can see above, those are some of the outfits I've put together. Not only can you make an outfit, but you can edit the background and add effects to your picture. You can save them and share them, remix them, and make lookbooks out of them. You can also follow people as you can do with Fashiolista, Twitter, Tumblr, Blogger, etc. Once you complete your profile and start following people, you'll see you have a Wall. That's where you can see your looks and if people comment, or like them. As well as a Wall, you have your Look Feed. This might sound familiar if you have a Facebook account. Belle Costes' New Handmade Bags

These bags were all handmade by Belle Costes. My friend Avery and I decided to model Belle Costes' bags for her. All of these bags were made with leather. Mostly just leather and lace. On Twitter Belle said, "3 hand made leather bags just finished for Spring and Summer 2011. A bit of Victorian Steam Punk." Some bags are cross-body bags, others are clutches and the rest are shoulder bags. My favorite is the purple one that I'm wearing in the 2nd picture. Avery's favorite is the one she's wearing in the 3rd picture. Belle and Avery both favor that one. Belle also makes jewelry that can be found at bcnyc.com, I think I mentioned her before. Belle Costes' collection of bags haven't been named yet. They will be for sale soon. Keep your eyes out for them! They're a very good Spring/Summer accessory.

New Haircut!

Yesterday I got my haircut! As you can probably see at the top, I got bangs. I got my haircut at a salon called Sei-Tomoko. It was really nice there. Before my haircut I went to Momofuku. They have some really interesting things to eat. I tried their birthday cake truffles. My mom hated it, but I thought they were pretty good. After my haircut I went to Forever 21 with my grandma in Union Square. I bought the outfit I was wearing in the pictures up top. It consists of a skirt that secures with a rope as a belt (my favorite part), a dark blue top with flowers on it, and a vest-like item. All from Forever 21. I also saw Red Riding Hood. REALLY GOOD MOVIE! Oh, by the way, I don't have access to my laptop, so I might be posting from my iPod for a while. Sorry for bad formatting!!!

Fashiolista

I've been emailing another fashion blogger who has been featured in many different places. Her name is Chantal (cocorosa): mypreciousconfessions.blogspot.com. I was just asking her some simple questions like: "Where do you shop?", "How did you start blogging?". She replied later on, she started by going on Chictopia and Fashiolista. I have only heard of Chictopia at that point, so I decided to check out Fashiolista.

Once I was at Fashiolista.com I made an account and immediately was fascinated by it. The basic idea of Fashiolista is to browse through items of clothing and "love" or "unlove" them. You can also find items yourself. You need the "love button" though, it's an add-on for Firefox. Once you're at the store (online) you can press the button and a window pops up. That way you can add your item to a list, or just love it. Lists are basically categories. You can put different items into different categories. For example: You have a list called Forever 21. Now you put in items that are from Forever 21. It's that simple.

Fashiolista is a very good way to shop online, you find new things everyday. Others have their own lists and find their own items. You can add a comment on their profile, or "gossip" as they say. Everyone has different items, and their own styles. You can keep track of their items by following them. Of course that means you can unfollow them too. Overall, Fashiolista is very fun and there is a broad choice of items. I would suggest it to anyone who likes Polyvore or Chictopia.

Bags and Purses

Those were some of my bags/purses. The first one, the gray one I got from my mom. It's a Bica Cheila bag and it's really big. It also has a lot of pockets. There are 2 on the outside (left and right), and 3 on the inside. It's made of leather, so if you put too many things in it, then it might be a little heavy.

The second bag, I also got from my mom. I think it's a vintage bag. It might seem small, but you can fit your phone, iPod, wallet, etc. in it. Just not a book or something that large. I used it a lot over the summer because I never really went anywhere where I needed that many things, so I just brought that. It looks good with almost anything too. I stopped using it during fall/winter because it's not very useful if you're wearing a large coat.

The third bag is vintage as well. I got this at the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market a couple weeks ago. It was really cheap, 5 dollars. It's beaded and the clasp has abalone on it. It opens up to have one tiny pocket. The strap originally wasn't that string. I think it was some sort of chain, but seeing as it's kind of old, it probably broke. The white string fits well though. I bet it's more comfortable than a chain, too.

Making a Fashion Scrapbook

Today I wore an Aoyama Itchome shirt. It has a cherry in the corner and it's almost a crop-top. I've had this shirt for a while now, but I never liked it when I was younger. Now that I'm older it has to be one of my favorite shirts!

In other words, I have a fashion scrapbook. I'm still working on it, but I put some pictures of mine so far. I took an old notebook and ripped out any unnecessary pages. I decorated the cover with a bow I made from my old headband and put some tulle in the spine. I also took some ribbon and weaved it through the spine. The things I put in my scrapbook come mainly from magazines. If I have a scrap of fabric that I see a lot in the city, I'll add a piece of it. Also I'll include some of my designs (I have two so far). I use Elle, Teen Vogue, Seventeen and I will use Marie Claire for my pictures. I strongly encourage you guys to start your own. It's a good way to keep track of trends! :)

Camille Cresencia-Mills For Elle: "Tapped Out"

I loved Elle's March 2011 articles on the Skins cast. My favorite in the show must be Daisy. All of these teens have a good sense of style, but I love how Daisy dresses. In this shoot for Elle, Camille is wearing Vanessa Bruno floral shorts, a Phillip Lim shirt and The Row blazer. I found it interesting that the Vanessa Bruno shorts were turned from regular, everyday shorts to underwear/lingerie. My second favorite thing about this girl is her hair. Her hair just flows beautifully. The color also looks really nice with her skin tone.

In the TV series Skins, Daisy is the person who everyone relies on to fix their social problems. She seems like a really sweet girl–and she is, but don't get me wrong...She has an attitude. To go along with her attitude, it seems she's living a double life. Sometimes you can find her partying with her friends and being sneaky, but another sneaky thing she does, is play her trumpet. Her father doesn't like this that much. She plays her trumpet in concerts and she's quite good! Yes, this show has gotten some pretty bad reviews, but if you're mature enough to handle the content, I'm sure you'd really love it.

These four pictures are my favorites for this week.

I love Kryz's outfit (Thirsty Thought) because it's very bright. Normally I wouldn't like really flashy colors, but those pieces just fit together perfectly. :)

Weronika's (Raspberry and Red) outfit looks very casual and not so casual at the same time. I love how the jacket just fits everything else so well! I also like that all the colors are really just shades of blue.

Marla's (The Versicle) coordinate looks almost just like one of mine. I love the neutral colors! The shorts are a must-have in my wardrobe. The blouse and shorts complete the look.

Now last but not least, June Paski! June Paski's everything is beautiful. The blouse and skirt are really nice. Ruffles always catch my eye!

Today I was reading my new Elle (April 2011) magazine I got in the mail yesterday. I saw Amanda Seyfried's photoshoot and it looks amazing! In her article "In Like a Lamb", I love how she's holding animals, also the dress in the first picture looks stunning. I love how it's short in the front then long in the back. It's just like crop-tops, which I've been seeing more of these days. Amanda's makeup was very well done. I adore the wings at the end of her eyes. They add this catty look, to go with her serious expressions. In the third picture, the cat is such a good addition! Her face is almost hidden into the cat's fur, which I find beautiful. Those cats look like very elegant cats, just like what she's wearing. Good job Amanda!!

Oliver!

Today I had the first rehearsal for Oliver!, the musical my school is doing. I'm part of the crew since I'm not a big actress, singer, or dancer... I help out with set changes and all that stuff.

Today I wore my other new shirt from Forever 21, it's almost a crop-top. It's blue and has flowers on it. I paired it with the olive colored shug from Forever 21. Then I added a necklace that Belle Costes made. (bcnyc.com) I took pictures of Avery again, she was wearing her new Forever 21 dress. It's also floral and as usual she paired it with the navy cardigan from Forever 21. The buttons on the cardigan are very vintage-looking. Unfortunately, you can't see the buttons in these pictures.
I decided to add one picture from recess today. It's of my friend Miles who really wanted to be in one of my posts today. He usually wears shirts with names of bands on them and some jeans. I think he wears Vans too... In the background you can see the foot of his other friend, wearing Converse. Miles just recently got a haircut. He used to have very floppy hair. He doesn't like his new haircut, he said it looks too much like a mullet.

New Pets/Chelsea Piers!

Phew! That was a lot of pictures, and it wasn't even all of them! On Sunday I went to Chelsea Piers with my friend Chloe, we took a lot of pictures. You can see some at the top. I'm in the stripes and she's in the plaid. We have this funny story: Chloe was staring at the skate park, but she didn't know that there were two guys staring back at her. One said, "HEY BARBIE." to her and the other said something to me, but I was on the phone. We laughed so much about it that I almost choked on my coke. :)

Today I took pictures of Avery in her new Forever 21 dress. I have a skirt kind of like her dress. Her pictures are directly above the text. I love the pattern and it's a very girly dress. I'm sure if you accessorize the dress more, it'd look almost classy. What else happened today was that I got an Albino Underwater Frog and an Ivory Snail! I'll post pictures below. I'm still thinking of names. I have a lot of ideas, I'm making a poll, so make sure to vote!

Filling My Closet with Florals

So now you see one of the new tops I got yesterday at Forever 21. Both of the tops I got have floral patterns. The other one you'll see tomorrow. I matched this top with my black [also] Forever 21 jeggings and my vintage heart clock necklace. My hair is in two small buns on each side. The picture doesn't show it well, but you can go to my CHICTOPIA to see it better. Today I went food shopping with my mom. We bought a bunch of fruits and vegetables...that should be good. On my way walking there these little kids were having a bake sale. They were screaming at people, "BAKE SALE FRESH GOODS BUY STUFF NOW." I'm not even kidding. They were yelling that to me and some lady behind me. I guess that's how they make their money...

Stressful Week–Shopping Break!

Today I wore a handmade top. It's very thin and a lady in the Ukraine embroidered the detail onto the top by hand. I tucked it into a white skirt from H&M and put a red Forever 21 belt over the skirt. I wore my black leggings and red Keds on the bottom half of my body. I am very tired right now, my week has been so stressful. I've had like, 4 projects all due this week and they were so tiring to do. Not to mention how hard they were... At least I got to go shopping at the end of the day with my friends at Forever 21. The new F21 in Times Square, NYC. On 42nd street. It's huge!! They have a photo booth and you can even take videos in there. It's quite amazing, if you haven't gone, you should definitely go!
